Holiday house Casa La Atalaya del Mar is situated under the village of Puntagorda, in the beautiful sunny north western part of the Canary island La Palma. This free standing house with pool stands at 600M above sea level in a quiet and natural setting.
It is only 5 minutes drive to the shops, bars and restaurants of the village Puntagorda.
This casa has 3 bedrooms and offers sleeping accommodation up to 5 persons.
The view over the Atlantic Ocean with the waves, the fishing boats and sometimes cargo liners, is breathtaking and different every day of your holiday.
On clear nights the sky will give a spectacular display of thousands of stars, the Milky Way, passing satellites and the moon.

The swimming pool has a spacious sun terrace with sea view. There are sunbeds and parasols.

Accommodation

Casa La Atalaya del Mar has living room with open kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a bathroom.
In front and at the back of the house are teracces with privacy and sea view and there is an outside kitchen with barbecue.

The living room has a confortable sofa, SAT-TV, radio/cd and DVD-player and there is a dining table with 6 chairs.
The doors open onto the terrace.

In the kitchen you will find a large refrigerator, ceramic hob, filter coffeemachine and toaster.

There is a good selection of kitchen utensils and crockery.

The holiday house has 3 bedrooms and offers sleeping accommodation up to 5 persons: onedouble bedroom with a double bed 135x190M, bedside tables and a wardrobe a second double bedroom with 2 single beds of 90x190M, bedside tables and a wardrobe a bedroom for 1 person with a single bed 90x190M, bedside table and wardrobe

Area

Puntagorda is one of the most beautiful areas of La Palma. It is in the rural north-west of the island with 2100 inhabitants and is about 1.5 hours drive from the airport.
Puntagorda village has various shops, 2 supermarkets, butcher, a dispensing chemist, doctor, dentist, banks with cash dispensers, a post office, restaurants, typical local bars, library, Lnternet cafes and a public swimming pool (summer). On Saturdays and Sundays there is a market in the Mercadillo selling fresh local farm produce including local wine, cheese, cigars, cakes and fresh fruit and vegetables.
The area around Puntagorda is a must for nature lovers. There are many and varied marked walking paths, view points, some old windmills and El Fayal, a beautiful pine forest with barbecue and picnic area and childrens playground. The area above the village is covered in pine forests, the lower areas towards the cliffs are covered with shrubs and cactus.
There is access to the sea at El Puerto with a tiny pool and rocks but no beach. In the summer months you can swim in the ocean. It is worth a visit if only for the views along the cliffs and the coast.
Puntagorda is ideally situated for trips to the north of La Palma and the highest point of the island Roque de Los Muchachos. There are walking paths along to Tijarafe, Las Tricias, Garafia, and El Tablado. A taxi will drop you at the Roque de Los Muchachos so that you can walk down to Puntagorda.
In January to March the hillsides of Puntagorda are covered in flowering almond trees. Every year, at the end of January or beginning of February, Puntagorda celebrates the Festival of the Flowering Almond.
Puntagorda is ±45 minutes drive to the town of Los Llanos with the famous Plaza de España and the beautiful streets and houses and shops. The sandy beach at Tazacorte is a ±35 minutes drive.
